Invocation for Judgement Against the Destruction of Rock Music
Published February 15th, 2008 in Humor and Religion. 8 CommentsA never-ending blast of music is one of those necessities of the kitchen that chefs rely on to get through the dinner rush. Chef and his co-chefs often have a stack of available CDs higher than their stacks of dishes. They pulled an unlabeled disk out the other night and popped it in, [...]

God Doesn’t Hate Fags
Published November 4th, 2007 in Assholes, Books, GLBTQ, Good Reads, Hate, Law, Religion and War. 0 CommentsLo, my heart is warmed this Sunday with excellent news from earlier this week: God doesn’t hate fags and the church of Fred Phelps lost a righteous $10.9 million lawsuit:
A grieving father won a nearly $11 million verdict Wednesday against a fundamentalist Kansas church that pickets military funerals in the belief that the war [...]
Knowing all the good, tolerant Christians that I do, it’s really a shame to stumble on a story like this one:

Kia Reid, who described [...]

Published May 1st, 2007 in Indiana, Law and Religion. 7 CommentsEver since I first blogged about the irritating Indiana license plate debacle, I’ve been getting stupid comments like this (resist the urge to reach for the red pen, darlings):
All I hear is a bunch of griping. Yes I am a believer, and no I never complained before we had this plate.
There are more options than [...]
I’ve never seen this interpretation before, but the website explains it here, and Bil Browning has more on the Indianapolis area church’s mission.

What Christmas Is Really About
Published April 12th, 2007 in Asides, Family, Humor, Movies and Religion. 6 CommentsWhat the mom in this video forgot is that she gave her other child a video camera last year. Priceless.
Easter is the coolest Christian holiday, and not because of the Christian story, per se, although I always liked it in my church-going days because it was a story that offered hope. No, Easter is cool because it allows you to drink Bloody Marys with your family during Easter brunch and then go out [...]
More on the Indiana License Plate Ridiculousness
Published April 4th, 2007 in Indiana, Money, Politics and News and Religion. 11 CommentsAt this point it’s practically scandalous.
Talking about the Indiana license plate controversy with friends, somebody brought up that the “In God We Trust” plates probably cost more to produce because of the color of the plates themselves.
Turns out, whatever reason, the speculation is fact.
Since the new “In God we trust” plates became available [...]
