Since the weather is nice and Chef is breaking out the smoker, I was looking for a proper Arkansas barbecue hot sauce recipe similar to the kind served at the Dixie Pig in my parents’ hometown. Funny that I found it on Saveur.

I think this vinegar-based recipe is very similar.
Is Chef going to make “pig” sandwiches?
There is a page on Facebook for Blytheville Dixie Pig Lovers–check it out.
Yep, we’re having pig sandwiches and tater tots.
Unfortunately Chef didn’t read the recipe too closely so now we have green peppers instead of red for the sauce. We’ll see how it works out — should be pretty good.
Willing to share??
I told Chef he can’t let you know *just how good* his version of Arkansas BBQ is because you’d be beating down the door. :D
All you had to do was e-mail me, Lauren. I would have liked, driven down the highway to the Dixie Pig and gotten it for you.
Go Hogs Go! heh…
Where are you located, M?
