I chuckled when I read this bit on the stick being inducted to the National Toy Hall of Fame, because E spent a good part of the summer in the backyard setting up and knocking down sticks in increasingly elaborate TKD forms.
I wonder if the cardboard box has a spot in the hall of fame yet.

The Cardboard Box was inducted in 2005. http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2005-11-12-cardboard-box_x.htm
This reminds me of a terrible joke my spouse texted me one day when I was stuck in a horrible meeting & texted him for help in passing the time:
What’s brown and sticky?

.
.
A stick.
I used to like to stand in front of a field and hit old fruit with a stick. Or thrash tall weeds with a stick. Or just pretend my stick was a lightsabre, etc.
Don’t even get me started on cardboard boxes.
I used to take a big stick and then go in the woods in my backyard and smash all the little inferior dead sticks.
