Well Then

Apparently this blog has turned into a litany of my health complaints, so in that vein:

We went swimming yesterday, or rather, Chef went swimming and I lay on the edge of the pool soaking in the sun. The pool is on the edge of the county at my in-laws’ beautiful home, an open, windy area that with the warmth of the sun and the sweetness of the gardens is one of the most relaxing places to nap. It was just a bit to cold for me to swim, so there I lay, and lay, and lay. We left to have dinner with my parents to celebrate a late birthday for my mom, had a really nice time, and yet when we came home I began to feel really uncomfortable. Backache, nauseated, skin hurting all over my body, sweaty and feverish but without fever. I didn’t have a sunburn, exactly, but I was red all over.

I called in to work this morning, popping benadryl and Tylenol PM, thinking this might be sun poisoning, to try and sleep off whatever was ailing me. Several hours later I woke up freezing my ass off, covered in sweat, soaking through two blankets. I bounced from bed to couch to bed to couch, completely miserable, and finally woke up from my personal hell at about 7:30 this evening feeling much, much better, my breath so bad I think one of the cats may have crapped in my mouth.

That said, maybe I’ll update the blog again in two months when I get sick with yet another something.

Which, by the way, is serious, so I hope you are seeking medical attention. And I hope you get better soon.

Benadryl is what’s in Tylenol PM that makes you sleep.
