I'm glad it doesn't make me a Bad Feminist to be slightly obsessed with those half-rate celebrity <3 shows on VH1. I also ADORED Dani.

And I'm fairly obsessed with Real Housewives of New York City. I loved the Orange County version, but this one is wayyy more disgusting. I mean, they didn't have limos and chauffers on OC. The seriousness in which they discuss how the driver and other servents should address them flabbergasts me. (Firstname? NO! There is a respect issue here! We MUST be referred to as Mrs. Lastname!) Alex and Simon's relationship causes visceral repulsion in me. I can't stop.

1. I swear the conversation from this thread is just like the conversations at www.afterellen.com! Over there, Bravo is a worshiped network--got to love how LGBT friendly it is!

2. Dani was totally treated like a rockstar at Dinah Shore two weeks ago. She is really sweet and the only decent part of a shot at love

3. My favorite part of Top Chef: Padma. Oh how i love her!

4. And I'm totally with you Laura on Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff). She is absolutely drool worthy!

Did you see the episode of Mythbusters in which Grant did a Tim Gunn impression?

And Mike Rowe can come get me dirty anytime.

I'll take it that's ^ in response to me. You're calling it 'ridiculous' for a reason, right?

Getting shows via torrent, or seeking them out online in other manners, is different. Generally, there are no commercials---which is quite the world of difference from television, where you're held captive to the whims of marketing execs (unless you have TiVo or such and can fast-forward).

It's also the Internet, which means you can seek out any type of entertainment. With television, you're stuck looking at the preview channel to see what your selection will be at any given half-hour/fifteen minutes. The Internet allows you to direct your own media experience; television assumes you'll be sitting on your butt flippin thru channels.

Since the writer's strike, I haven't sought out any teevee shows online. That's the thing: if you're too lazy, you won't even want to search for shows online, you'll just take alt media you happen upon. With television you can be lazy and just push a button on a remote.

I have been watching a lot of TED Talks during our lunches, though!
