Irritable

As of the end of March, I’m quickly approaching job burnout as are many of my fellow employees. We’re all irritable and annoyed and snapping at one another thanks to ridiculous overtime hours and unspecified job expectations from non-existent and/or off-site management. As such, I don’t know whether it’s me imagining personal slights leveled in my direction (in professional, parental, and personal capacities) or if I’m merely being sensitive. And because I’m just not sure, I’m not saying anything about any of it.

I’m just fucking irritated. My ADD isn’t helping.

Remember when we worked at that cafeteria? And how I had to be trained special how to slice the meat because I’m a lefty? And how I couldn’t quite slice it thin enough, so I was giving all the old folks too thick of meat slices? And how I started crying because the manager kept riding my case because I couldn’t slice the meat thin enough?

    That job fucking sucked, too.

Since then my rule is that if a job makes you cry, it’s time to quit.

I’m hoping your situation isn’t this dire.

I’m trying to find websites you can have up, so after a particularly shitty customer you can read others’ experiences and at least have a laugh. —I’ll have to get back to you on this one.

Perhaps you could get a Twitter, and then vent your angst in real-time.

Perhaps you might be cheered by my own recent ADD narrative?

Also, oh yes please do get thee a Twitter.

    And hang in there.

I think it’s that time of year where everyone is annoyed at their work.
