Like the Holidays at My Folks’ Place

Political Conversation Gets Stabby:

NORRISTOWN, Pa. — One man supports Hillary Clinton. His brother-in-law supports Barack Obama. Their difference in political opinions came to blows and then got bloody, police said.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Jose Ortiz supports Clinton in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. He is now in prison because of what police say happened in a Collegeville townhouse Thursday night. Ortiz’s brother-in-law 42-year-old Sean Shurelds supports Clinton’s rival, Barack Obama. Investigators said the two men got into a very heated debate over the candidates.

“Their verbal argument became physical. One began choking the other, and then the victim of the choking took a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother- in-law in the stomach,” said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Except here it’s between liberals and conservatives. No political conversation at dinner.

    Damn, what a family.

    Am I reading that incorrectly?

Because it sounds like Ortiz was being choked by Shurelds, and then Ortiz stabbed his attacker. But Ortiz is in jail, now?

I mean, washing the knife = very bad idea, but if Shurelds started strangling him first, should they, at the very least, both be in trouble?

I always wondered if Philadelphia people were just meaner or if it was just me. It’s not just me.
