Tote bags are pretty easy.  I usually use two layers of different fabric for the body, to give it a more solid feel and a nice contrasty inside; or use canvas for the inside, which really makes it strong.  But beware: sewing canvas on an everyday machine can be trying because of the thickness.  I've broken more than one needle.</description>
