Ow

I was going to write more on this post per reader request tonight, in addition to working on my current knitting project, but I banged my hand up pretty good on a windowsill as I was leaving work and now my right hand is swollen, bruised, and really, really sore. I ran around exclaiming that I’d broken my typing hand, but sadly this didn’t lead to any inquiries on one-handed typing.

There ought to be a cure for clumsiness.

So this is why we couldn’t get together for homework night!

The Partner picked up that other game he wanted, Attribute. You should be able to play it one-handed.

Oof. Windowsills. When I was in law school, I worked one summer for a legal services office. The night before my second day on the job, I smacked my browbone on the windowsill (my bed was pushed up to the window, it was a twin, and I’m a restless sleeper), and I gave myself a black eye. Which might have been cause for a joke anywhere else but NOT IN A PLACE WHERE THEY REFERRED WOMEN TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS. And I wasn’t even seeing anyone!

Luckily, judicious application of makeup and hiding with bangs and a lot of luck in not having gotten hit in a place that would cause the kind of instantaneous swelling and serious blackening that my brother got right before his junior prom during wrestling practice when someone elbowed him on the browbone led to nobody asking any uncomfortable questions.
