Death By Pretension

I thought it would be cool to introduce Ethan to kid-friendly singable music even I can listen to, but I was wrong.

I also introduced him to poetry. All night, every night, I am assaulted with Human League, Tears for Fears, and Lord Alfred Tennyson.

The Human League is basically what you get when a bunch of comp sci majors decide to make music.

Wait, I mean, the Human League is exactly what you get when a bunch of comp sci majors decide to make music. I learned that on VH1.

I recall a few years ago some pop star with no talent re-made Berlin’s Take My Breath Away. My then tween age daughter loved it, which was something I Could Not Abide. I played the real song for her, and she agreed, it was wonderful. Then, for about six months straight, she played it over and over and over and sang it into her karaoke machine and in the shower and, well, some years later, I am only again beginning to enjoy the song again.

She’s a smart girl, that one.
