My mother’s rule was that we were obliged to go to church and confirmation classes, and, once we reached the age of confirmation, we got to decide - whether we got confirmed, and whether we ever went to church thereafter. When I told her I was an atheist, at about that boy’s age, we reached a mutual agreement that I would visit a nursing home while the rest of the family was at church.

I’m no longer an atheist, and Mom and I get on fine. I shudder at the thought of her reacting the way the woman in the video does.

I think he learned, Kim, that he can P– his mom off and maybe some new vocabulary. As far as the dad, I bet he has heard his wife go on in a tirade like this often.

That is fantastic. And quite possibly the reaction I’d get if my mom ever found out I was agnostic. :D
