Note: Need Tape Recorder

At some point I have to record Ethan playing the piano because he’s way too good for being only seven years old.

You really should stop with the Ethan posting.* It’s going to make me change my mind about not wanting kids.

    *Obviously, i’m kidding.

If you have a mic with your computer, you can record (and edit) using Audacity (which is a free download). We’ve burned several of our son’s songs onto CD for friends and family….

Fred is right. You should just use your computer to record the piano. If anything you could a long cabled microphone and set it up in the same room when he is playing. Should pick it up very nicely.

If all else fails, give me a call — we have at least six microphones and can loan you one or two. Download Audacity (for free! http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), hook the mic up to your computer, and click record!

We can even help you with figuring it out.

Or, purchase a recorder ($60 at some stores here in town, e.g., http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7715305&st=sony recorder&lp=8&type=product&cp=1&id=1138086737582) that allows you to hook up a microphone (free though us) that plugs in to the recorder. Hook the recorder up to your computer to get the audio file, edit (if necessary) and upload to your http://FTP.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to hear E play.
