Please. Wallet chains, for whitebread students not in the know, are for skaters and TAs, both of which may need an impromptu weapon in a fight.

once, mine came in handy because a friend and i went for a three a.m. ride for smokes (i dont anymore) and hit a deer (this was not when i lived in brooklyn) and the hood latch smashed and the hood flew up in the air while we were driving it was pretty freaky. then i got out and latched it down with my chain. so…there’s another justification of wallet chains.
i like the gray gradient, red lips and shirt and black choppy hair profile banner
But it would have made this story even more delightful if it had been, so is it all right if I imagine it that way?
One of the first things I found when I went through my dead roomie Matthew’s things after his death was his chain. It just about killed me to find that thing–had his housekey on it and a Dogtown tag, and it just brought the picture to me so clearly, of him heading out the door, skateboard under his arm, chain jangling. As long as Matthew had that chain with the key, he knew he could travel anywhere in the world and still have a home to come to.
Now it’s hanging on my bedroom wall.
So I guess the point of this is that it isn’t just a 90s throwback.
