Funny

I remembered today why I quit blogging. I’m almost there again.

Is it what I think it is?

Well, it’s obviously your decision, but I’m sure many of us would be sad if you left. Do you want to say any more about it?

The existence of Mel Gibson’s Apocalyptico getting to you too?

That’s funny; I don’t see any recent comments from Robert?

(Please don’t quit! You will only come back to it. Everyone does eventually. But the trick is, if you never quit, you don’t have to cough embarrassedly into the mike and ask if this thing’s on when you come back. You can just resume blogging like nothing ever happened. That three months you didn’t blog? That was a break for creative replenishment and spiritual renewal. No one has to know you just goofed off and enjoyed yourself like a normal person.)

Oh, come on now. I can’t think of anyone better suited to handle the subject of blood sacrifice among the Aztecs with greater sensitivity.

Except possibly D.W. Griffith. But he’s been dead for a while now.

Lauren, you can’t quit! Who will I bug with draft posts?

I hope it’s not one of the reasons you quit blogging.

Lauren, I know how you feel. I’ve quit three times only to return to blogging again. The best advice I can give is to take a break for a few weeks, see if you feel refreshed, and then return only when you feel like it. Blogging is not fun when it becomes a chore.
