I still can’t wrap my head around the “neck stretch” in the first video…
First one creepy, second video makes me sad. Very very sad.
I’ve never hated them, Dove. I figured, one very small step in the right direction, but still a step in the right direction for ‘a that and ‘a that.
I’m mixed.
Like belledame said, it’s a small step in the right direction — and it’d be great if all other corporations followed suit.
At the same time I’m weary of corporations selling anything (especially self-esteem) because their bottom line is the profits for the boardmembers. You go to their .ca website and the next tab highlights their products. I’m just sayin’.
I don’t think we should be relying upon corporations to change the culture.
I completely agree with you, A. I\’m just happy to see a corporate campaign (because we can\’t forget it\’s a campaign) highlighting its own bad practices. And in the meantime, I hope, started some conversations about beauty culture among those who aren\’t likely to have said conversations in a healthy way.
What about this one?
“Little Girls”
Coming from this side of the patriarchy, this and the “Daughters” video sorta made me a little teary-eyed.
Your \comments \don’t like you, \Lauren.
;)
I jut discovered that when I go back in to edit a typo on one of my comments the stupid blog adds the \\\\. What the fuck is that?
It’s to let your readers know when you’ve edited your comments, duh!
Actually, I have no idea.
Make your own facial soap out of hemp! Stick it to the corporations!
We can’t legally grow hemp unless we get special permission from the DEA, which is also due to large corporations.
I would say that it’s an escape character, that isn’t removed as it should be. Bad software, bad!
I think the comercials have a message, but I can’t help noticing that they don’t pick anyone to participate that’s too far removed from the classic beauty concepts.
